Genus Shorea, Hopea, Upuna - Family Dipterocarpaceae

This wood is very hard with curly grain, is very resistant from a mechanical point of view and is quite hardwearing. It is used in naval and civil construction.

Origin: tropical forests of South Eastern Asia, Borneo and Indonesia.
